Creating Headings, Paragraphs, and Callouts

Use the Markup Styles ribbon button to create headings, paragraphs or callout. As the name indicates, the markup styles options affect the structure of your HTML and the styles applied to a given selection. In some cases you can achieve the same visual affect by formatting the font or applying predefined styles from the Style dropdown, but some layouts are best achieved using markup styles. For example, many search engines give greater weight to the contents of headings than they do to paragraphs that simply have big text.

Examples:

This is a Heading 1

(Its HTML is <h1 class="ms-rteElement-H1">This is a Heading 1</h1>)

This is a Callout 3

(Its HTML is <div class="ms-rteElement-Callout4">This is a Callout 4</div>)

This is a Colored Heading 4

(Its HTML is <h4 class="ms-rteElement-H4B">This is a&#160;Colored Heading 4&#160;</h4>)
