Page Layouts 

Creating a page using a page layout is similar to filling out a form. The page’s content goes into fields that are included in the layout. Some of the fields are for information that provides metadata about the page or data used in managing the content that normal readers never see. Other fields contain HTML formatted text, images, and links to other pages or sites. These fields are the primary difference between a wiki page and a publishing page.


Publishing pages do not have the Text Layout button available on the ribbon. Instead, you postion page elements based on what the Page Layout allows. If you desire a different layout you must change page layouts as follows:

  1. Select the Page ribbon
  2. Select a page layout from the Page Layout ribbon button
